Vic: Man accused of stabbing son to stand trial

A father accused of stabbing his son to death has been committed to stand trial.

FETI TURAN, 60, is charged with the murder of his 32-year-old son UFUK TURAN near their
suburban Keilor Downs home on June 2 this year.

UFUK'S sister NESRIE TURAN had told Melbourne Magistrates Court her brother had been
diagnosed as a paranoid schizophrenic.

She said he had waged a campaign of violent and abusive behaviour against the family
for around 13 years.

Former policeman ALEXANDER CUKAVAC said TURAN walked into the police station he was
working at, his clothes stained with blood, holding a knife.

Mr CUKAVAC told the court that TURAN put the knife on the counter and said that he
had killed his son.

The court heard TURAN said he had killed his son in the car and put him near a fence
after a very heated argument.

He's reserved his plea.

Magistrate JILL CROWE ordered him to appear at the Melbourne Supreme Court on March 6, 2000.
